Question 1

Who can submit a service request, and do I need an account?

Accepted Answer

Submit a request only for work at a property you own or manage. You do not need to sign in. The public form saves your request and shows a confirmation with a unique reference link you can use to check its status.

Question 2

What information do I need to provide?

Accepted Answer

At /request-service, choose Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Roofing, General contracting, Landscaping, or Other. Enter a 5-digit ZIP code, your full name, phone number, email address, a description of the work, and how you heard about IntentKnot: Search engine, Friend or colleague, Social media, IntentKnot partner, or Other. A morning, afternoon, or evening contact time is optional. You must agree to the request-specific use and sharing of your details before the form can be submitted.

Question 3

How can I check my request’s latest status?

Accepted Answer

The unique reference link in your confirmation opens the latest saved status at /request-service/status/[ref], and you do not need to sign in to use it. If you submitted while signed in, your requests also appear at /dashboard/requests with their latest tracked status.

Question 4

What do the request status labels mean?

Accepted Answer

The available status labels are New, Contacted, Qualified, Booked, Closed, and Invalid. New may mean that no contractor lead was created for the saved request. Contacted is a workflow value, not proof that a call or text happened; contact attempts are not tracked. The public status page does not show your contact information or project details.

Question 5

Can I choose a preferred time for contact?

Accepted Answer

You can optionally choose Morning, Afternoon, or Evening on the request form. The linked follow-up guide also lets you save Morning, Afternoon, Evening, or No preference as your preferred contact time.

Question 6

How are requests matched with contractors?

Accepted Answer

Requests are matched by the selected service and ZIP code against contractor profiles’ primary services and listed service-area ZIP codes. A service-area reservation may limit routing. Your request stays saved if no contractor profile matches, but no contractor lead is created in that case.

Question 7

When might I hear back, and is contractor contact guaranteed?

Accepted Answer

IntentKnot typically reviews requests within one business day; that is an expectation for review, not a contractor acceptance or response deadline. A match can take longer. If a contractor matches, they may receive a lead and may contact you at the phone number or email you submitted under the required consent. Contractor email notifications depend on the contractor’s settings and successful delivery. A match, contractor availability, and contractor contact are not guaranteed.
